Petrobras restarts 65,000 b/d Campos Basin heavy oil platform

October 31, 2007 RIO DE JANEIRO -- Brazilian state controlled oil company Petrobras said Tuesday it restarted its 65,000 b/d offshore platform at the Campos Basin Albacora Leste heavy oil field on Saturday, after an operational snag had shut in production there since October 16.

The platform resumed full production over the weekend, two days before Petrobras had expected to bring it back on stream, the company said in a statement. Earlier, Petrobras had estimated its daily crude output would fall by an average 25,000 b/d in October because of the problem, which affected the platform's riser, a flexible line connecting it to wells on the the sea floor.
