Use of real-time in heavy oil

In the July 2007 JPT Online article,  Use of Real-Time Operations Growing Upstream, Schlumberger's Sanjaya Sood, Vice President Global Real Time, discusses the growth of real-time systems in upstream operations and specifically as applied to the drilling and production of thermal SAGD wells. As we have discussed in previous posts and feature articles, DTS and other permanent sensors that can provide continuous and instant feedback on downhole conditions are having a positive impact in extending heavy oil recovery.
