The growing importance of carbon capture and storage

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is the process where CO2 from refinery or power plant emissions is scrubbed and sequestered in subsurface reservoirs in order to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) impact. Sequestered CO2 can also be used for enhanced oil recovery processes.

A recent article on ethicalcorp.com highlights the role CCS will play in heavy oil and oilsands production as governments at both national and local levels implement low-carbon laws. The full article can be found on http://www.ethicalcorp.com/content.asp?contentid=6288.
