An interesting article on Tatarstan's interest to develop it's heavy oil fields.
This article is another great example of the growing importance and focus on the development of heavy oil reserves to meet world oil demand and in the case of Tartarstan, heavy oil represents 48% percentage of their reserves with 36% being classified as bitumen or oil sands.
