An article exploring the use of large scale computing grids to enable more detailed reservoir modeling.

In my last post I discussed the use of large computing clusters to enable reservoir models with ever finer levels of detail. The following article is another example where producers are harnessing the power of their computing grids to enable larger and more complex reservoir models to be run more often. Given the complexities of thermal and compositional models often needed for heavy oil recovery processes, this type of high performance computing has great potential to increase the accuracy and usage of heavy oil reservoir simulation.
