In my last post I shared with you two articles in a series we are running titled Unleasing the Potential: Heavy Oil. The third article, In-situ Well Planning, covers the many aspects of wellbore design and planning that are key to optimize recovery. In the article I mention the merits of using numerical simulation to model well design scenarios that can reduce completion costs and increase recovery. The aticle further underscores the need for careful well planning as part of any heavy oil operations.
